Counselling for Trauma

A healing space to tend to the impact of trauma and rediscover your resilience

Understanding Trauma

Trauma can leave you feeling disconnected, anxious, or emotionally overwhelmed. Whether your trauma is recent or long in the past, I am Trauma Informed, an offer a safe, and grounded space to gently explore your experiences and begin to heal—without judgment or pressure.

Trauma can leave lasting emotional and physical effects, even long after the event has passed. It’s not just about what happened, but how your mind and body continue to respond.

Everyone’s experience is different, but common symptoms can include:

– Flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, or nightmares
– Feeling constantly alert, tense, or easily startled
– Emotional numbness or feeling disconnected from yourself or others
– Difficulty trusting, forming relationships, or feeling safe
– Trouble concentrating or staying present
– Avoiding people, places, or memories related to the trauma
– Feelings of shame, guilt, or helplessness

If any of these feel familiar, know that you’re not alone. Support is available.

Counselling for Trauma

Trauma can affect every part of your life — your thoughts, emotions, relationships, even your sense of safety and identity. Whether your trauma is recent or from the past, counselling offers a compassionate, grounded space to begin processing what happened and how it’s still impacting you.

How counselling can help with trauma:

Understand your trauma – Explore how past events continue to shape your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, often in ways that feel confusing or overwhelming.

Reclaim your story – Talk through your experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment where your pain is acknowledged and your voice is heard.

Soothe your nervous system – Learn grounding techniques and tools to help reduce flashbacks, hypervigilance, and emotional overwhelm.

Make sense of emotional triggers – Identify patterns and situations that cause distress, and find ways to respond to them with more awareness and self-compassion.

Reconnect with yourself – Begin to rebuild trust in your body, your emotions, and your ability to feel safe again — at your own pace.

Restore your sense of control – Set small, manageable goals that help you feel more empowered, stable, and supported in your everyday life.

Every trauma experience is unique. Counselling meets you where you are — whether you’re just beginning to open up, or ready to go deeper in your healing.

You don’t have to carry it alone. Let’s take the next step together.
